Missouri…
Missouri…
Isn’t that where the Simpson’s are set? lol
The Ozarks are lovely and have some amazing things that you just don’t see in any other part of North America.
It’s the birth place of Harry Truman, home to Dick Van Dyke, and Mark Twain
And it’s also the setting for the book that I started reading. The Book of Names, by D. Barkley Briggs. Starting at suburbs of Kansas City (Independence,), than to small town farm land area…
Mr. C stole this book from me right out of the mail and didn’t give it to me til the next day because he read it all in one sitting and was mad that it was done. He wanted the next book already! (He doesn’t read much, so that’s pretty good review of the book right there!)
As soon as I started reading chapter one I knew that this was going to be good. Not just that it mentioned a setting that I totally can relate to –moving into the middle of nowhere like the characters Ewan and Hayden Barlow. With the the new release of Narnia (1 and 2) that I’m finally getting in to the sci-fi/fantasy stuff, and this is right on it’s tail!
When I was researching this book I was reading that D.B. Briggs had 4 boys and wrote this to encourage them, and well I’m even more impressed with it now.
The Book of Names, by D. Barkley Briggs. is the first in a series of books called Legends of Karac Tor, that I’m sure will be located in my house!
This is part of the Christian Science Fiction and Fantasy blog tour. More on the book tomorrow!
Or if you can’t wait check out the first 3 chapters!!
