I know it’s not October anymore, but this month we’ve gone pink.
Miss H cut her beautiful long hair off to donate to make a wig for cancer patients.
That was a pretty nice thing to do for a six year old, so I thought some new photos to show her hair off would help her feel good about cutting it off, she wasn’t sure what it would look like since her hair had been long for a while now. Her first “real” hair cut, other than the little trims that I’ve given her since she was a baby. My hairstylist did a great job, don’t you think?
Miss H was pretty thrilled to know that someone would be able to enjoy it and hers would grow back. She was also happy to know that this was an excellent “Christmas” present to give to Jesus. She gave of herself this year and I’m happy that we’re learning to do this with a happy heart!!
Anyhow, as a parent my heart just swells and am glad she loves Jesus. I don’t know if I could have done this at her age.
The program we sent the hair to (or will be this week) is:
Angel Hair for Kids is a program of a Child’s Voice Foundation that provides wigs and hair loss solutions to financially disadvantaged children who have lost their hair due to a medical condition or treatment. Using hair that is generously donated to the program, Angel Hair for Kids can create wigs and hair systems and provide them to children in need at no cost to their families. Since its inception three years ago the program has provided wig systems at no charge to over 150 children and the demand is steadily increasing
It takes 10-12 donated ponytails to make one wig or hair prosthesis!! How crazy is that?

Yeah Miss H; God bless you dear sister and may your gift of the heart be a reminder to us all!
What a beautiful gesture from a beautiful young lady. May God richly bless you.

Wow, that girl has style! Very chic… and for a wonderful cause. :~D
Too cute! I love the new do! May she be richly blessed for her self sacrifice. She is much braver than I am. I have debated donating my hair. But I love my long hair and I do not like the idea of going short again. Hope she loves it!
