Helping friends find their way to Christ

As Christians sometimes we get comfortable where we are.  We struggle enough at figuring out how to live our own Christianity nevermind trying to share it outside our own four walls.  I used to go full hearted on this subject, but it’s been a while because I’ve been so busy being a parent, trying to be a light to my own family, that I often forget that I need to share with others as well.

Mark Mittleberg designed a DVD/Workbook mix called “Faith Path” helping friends find their way to Christ.  When I saw the endorsements from Max Lucado, Lee Strobel, and Dr. Craig J. Hazen who are among my favorites it was  hard not to want this book!

Work through Faith Path and you will:

  • Understand people who approach life differently from you
  • Recognize the danger of paths that lead away from Christ
  • Deepen your own faith in Christ and reinforce your reasons for believing
  • Gain confidence in talking about Christ with others

I have to admit I don’t have the DVD’s. Not quite sure what I was thinking when I grabbed this one without considering that it had DVD’s involved, so I will be off to get them. However, I do think there is a lot of knowledge and good questions in this book that can help get us out of our regular rut in the search of helping our friends, rather than hindering them on their journey.
It was broken down into eight sessions.  Each bring out different discussion questions about sharing faith, and why people don’t want to listen, or their reasons for backing away.  As I went over this book, there were a lot of questions that Mark asked that I thought were great, and think a small group would benefit greatly from discussion — I can only imagine with the DVD’s that this book is 10X more impactive.

So, if you’re looking for small group material, check it out!

  • Yeah, I don’t use Illustrator much, either. I used to use Print Shop Pro… I don’ t know if that’s similar to paintshop? Hmm… :)

Illustrator is how I made the text 3D. If it’s not too costly, I’d really say you should look into the Design Premium or at least Photoshop and Illustrator! :D If it IS too expensive, there is a 30-day free trial for each Adobe program, you’d just have to go to the Adobe.com site for it!! I did that on two computers before I decided to by PS.

Oh hey I’m not sure if you can adjust channels and layers in Paintshop, but here’s a tut for that popular vintage effect going around (it’s easier than it looks!):

  • I find that the book JESUS CALLING is very inspirational and helps me get through each day when I feel weak and afraid. The author Sarah Young wrote it when she was alone and could listen to God.
