99 Ways to Fight Worry and Stress.
#98 YOU ARE LOVED
…He loves you. He loves you as you chew on your nails or furrow your brow. He loves you when you process through the fifty different ways that things could go wrong. He loves your smile. He wipes your tears. He doesn’t love the clean-up version of who you are. He loves the messy, slightly neurotic, often humbled reality of you. ..
How do you fight worry and stress? Do you eat? Do you go for a run? Drink coffee? All of the above? Worry is a part of our life and we need to find ways to combat it. There are so many things we can worry about that we can get overwhelmed with it more times than not.
99 Ways to Fight Worry and Stress by Elsa Kok Colopy is a sweet little book (only 100 pages!) with some practical advice on how to handle worry and stress. I appreciate that you can pick up and look at this book and not have to invest a lot of brain power! (I mean that in the best way.. for those of us with a lot of worry and stress, we can’t seem to afford to give much of our brain power away can we? lol) I like that you can choose what you want to take from it, as well as pick and choose which # you want to read about. It makes great for strategic placement in the bathroom when certain guests that could use a little help come over. *wink wink*.
Colopy provides short story segments, biblical wisdom, and practical down to earth ways to deal with stress. If you’re looking for ways to enjoy your life and create some peace regardless of what’s going on around you, this is a great book to check out! The stories are easy to relate to, and the advice is sound! I might be giving a few out for Christmas too, they are priced great for gift-giving, not to mention I may figure out how to break a few of my negative worry habits that I fight!
So I’ll leave you with one of my favorites from this book.
#41. Write a Thank-you Note. Thank the people who support you today. Thank the people who have supported you in the past. There is something about that heart of thanfulness that will help you focus on what people have done to come alongside you. Especially if you’ve been betrayed or abandoned by someone you care about, thanking those who have not walked away can be just the thing to pull you out of a funk!
(This can explain my addiction to stamping LOL)

…to set the mind on the Spirit is Life and Peace
Romans 8:6
Guess that brings a whole new meaning to sleep like a baby? lol. J/king.. seriously though if we focus on that how much more we would feel peace.

Please lift my friend up in prayer today.
Please lift my friend M and her family up today. Her husband died last night. He was fighting with cancer, and from what I understand it came quickly. I’ve known my friend M and her family since I was 12 (my neighbors growing up). They had a rough year with his mother dying last April and than his brother dying in October.
