The Respect Dare – Week 3

1peter

This week I want to leave you with a challenge from day 23

What can you do to encourage your husband and build him up, instead of tearing him down.  What can you do that will help him accomplish some of his dreams?

Don’t tell me, just decide on something and do it! :)   It can be something big, but it can also be small (like making sure supper is ready on time, or packing his lunch… cuz trust me, those aren’t always easy tasks when you’ve got a bunch of screaming babies under foot!… even buying his favorite toothpaste and putting it somewhere he will actually see it… making sure he’s got clean underwear.. the list is endless… think all the way up to painting the fence so you can have more time with him, or making a special night for… well, you know! *wink*)

That’s my challenge to you.  (and you can tell me if you want, you know I’d love to hear about it!)

The Respect Dare

orangebookcovercroppedDo you respect your husband?

Coming from a female driven family I have a hard time with this; I mean not like we as women don’t have a hard time with this in general, but the longer I’ve been married, the longer I realize I need to work more at this.  There are a lot of times I don’t think I’ve done anything, yet can’t seem to crack the male code.

I was thrilled when I saw the ad on facebook for this book and had to get a copy right away! With movies such as fireproof coming out last year I thought this was an excellent addition to further in the maintence of marriages.   So I waited for it to come, and let me tell you I was not disappointed!

I’ll be posting on this for the next few weeks to encourage you all to improve your marriages.  Whether you are married for one year or forty-one years I think it’s important for us to work on our marriages and so I hope you’ll join me on this journey as I share some of my thoughts over the next month or so on it.

Curious about the book?

Ephesians 5:33 in the Bible says that wives shall always respect their husbands, but most women struggle with this concept. Are you one of them?

The truth is that women get married with dreams, hopes and aspirations that are often never fulfilled. More than half of marriages end in divorce in the United States, and many women that stay married are unhappy.

The Respect Dare is a forty-day devotional guide that will take away the mystery that is keeping you from speaking the language of respect with your husband. It provides real life examples from women who have developed closer relationships with God and their husbands. In it, you will learn:

● How to build confidence;
● Methods to positively handle conflicts;
● Keys to better communication;
● How to develop a more intimate connection with your spouse;
● Ways to deepen your relationship with God;
● And much more!

Learn the language of respect and truly connect to the man you married with The Respect Dare.
